This talk will cover ongoing work to enable open-source, Python-based data analysis on FIB-ToF-SIMS data. It will introduce HyperSpy, an open-source multi-dimensional data analysis library, and discuss how a dedicated file reader and signal type were developed to bring FIB-ToF-SIMS datasets into the broader HyperSpy ecosystem, enabling access to its interactive visualization tools and general-purpose analysis routines (e.g. peak fitting, multivariate statistical analysis, and machine learning decomposition) without requiring proprietary software. The talk will also discuss how this functionality has been paired with NexusLIMS, an open-source laboratory information management system, to automatically capture and organize FIB-ToF-SIMS data and metadata as part of a facility’s broader research data management strategy, helping to close the loop between data acquisition and downstream, reproducible analysis.
